Iain Patz - Superstar Agility
Hi, I am Iain Patz. I have been in agility for 8 years now and in that time I have been twice to compete at the IFCS Championships for Great Britain, competed at Crufts in the Novice competition. I run a club called Bark Zone Agility based in Southampton with my wife Olivia. We have 6 dogs between us with 4 of them making championship level in the UK and our 2 youngest dogs starting out this year. As well as teaching and competing in agility, I love to judge at shows too.
Leagues Explained
For the purposes of qualification for the Jumping Jacks Finals, Dog of the Year Awards and Promotion to a new level, the Season finishes on the last day of the August finals show. The next Season starts on 1st September, ending with the conclusion of the subsequent Grand Prix Finals competition.
When you enter your first show, you have the option of entering your dog (free of charge) into a number of different leagues. Simply tick the boxes on the entry form - if you are entering multiple dogs then please specify which dogs are to go into which leagues.
Qualification for the Finals
-
Results obtained in all shows up to the Finals will count towards qualification for the Finals. Positions in the Agility and Jumping Leagues on that date will determine who automatically qualifies for the Agility and Jumping Finals.
-
In the event of a qualifier not entering the Finals Show, the next highest placed dog in the Leagues will be awarded an automatic place in the Final.
-
In the event of a qualifier entering but not attending the Finals Show, an extra place in the Final will be available through the qualifiers run on the same day.
Promotion & Dog of the Year Awards
-
Results obtained in all shows up to and including the Finals to be held in August will count towards the Dog of the Year Awards and promotion for the following season.
-
Promotion for the season will become effective from October 1st. Shows held in September will require entries to be submitted before promotion issues have been settled. Dogs will therefore continue to compete at their previous level until the end of September. Any points they win in that month will be carried forward into their new level from October 1st.
-
Promotion is based on points earned throughout the season in either the Agility or Jumping Leagues.
-
Promotion is separate in Agility & Jumping Leagues, if you have been promoted in one & wish to move up in both you must notify Kate.
-
Promotion is based on the following:
-
Pre-Introductory to Introductory=Gaining at least 100 points. Voluntary promotion With 0 points. You can move to Introductory when ready.
-
